Ahh dark drawings. My opinion of the whole damn mess.
This behaviour is learnt in schools then reported to DoCS by schools. Typical!
It started as a comedy sketch on a popular ABC program called the big gig I think. The comedian would upstage an old romper room segment where the nice lady would pretend to read a story to children with dark drawings and themes. This was ages ago but I feel this type of thing (when not related to real life violence) is where the funny side of it had its roots born. I watched this sketch and laughed my arse off and now teens see the repeats and seem to think its funny preforming this type of satire in front of their little brothers and sister.
And also now it has been plagiarised by the USA and become a popular over repetitious joke in movies and TV series. Just a pathetic attempt to relate to modern day parenting issues and make light of it.
Kids seem to draw these ugly scenes thinking its cute to be dark and seem to react to parents or anyone paying attention to this. The more you seem to worry about it the more children think it's funny. Thus feeding the very intention of the joke that is made in the tv series, being kid draws dark things and parents get concerned and this is normal for modern day issues. Children are trying to be funny and normal as they see it in the movies and DOCS seem to blow it all out of proportion.
just listening to my 18yo read from his personal messenger. The things they joke about make me laugh.
EG To become a Viking you need to sit on rabbits as this is the worst thing one can do.
Often I have to silence my teens these days as they think it's funny corrupting children with this type of satire.
I said to master 18, "
"You have to be careful, or else if they repeat it at school DOCS will take the kids". << This is a true quote from a real life situation and one I will add to the new guide to parenting handbook I have to write.
I've not seen colours used in Docs documents but they do seem to over interpret family drawings. However ours are all happy faces.
